Head of Cartoon Network Resigns

Jim Samples, the head of Cartoon Network, resigned Friday following the “bomb scare” in Boston. The announcement was made in an internal memo sent to Cartoon Network staff. Samples said he regretted what had happened.

“It’s my hope that my decision allows us to put this chapter behind us and get back to our mission of delivering unrivaled original animated entertainment for consumers of all ages,” Samples said.

Electronic devices with blinking LEDs were planted in 10 cities to promote “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” and their new movie. Officials in Boston feared that the devices were bombs when they found the dark circuit boards with wires. On Monday. Turner Broadcasting (Cartoon Network is a devision of Turner Broadcasting) agreed to pay $2 million in compsensation.
